Sharathon 2012-One for the record book…..
Well, after a great start with a near record-breaking pre-Sharathon total, we entered into three days of exciting Faith-Promise giving. We had several hundred contacts from old friends to the ministry who were missing last year but came back to help this year, and almost a hundred brand new donors giving for the very first time; we had calls from out-of-state construction workers in the area on the I-69 project, we had e-mails from friends away from the area as well as in the Tri-State; we had large challenge gifts, small gifts and everything in between; most of all, we had expressions of love and faith, blessings given and blessings received. The final total continues to climb as we hear from faithful friends who missed the boat (“by the way, when was Sharathon?”) and others who weren’t able to join us during Sharathon. Presently we are around $305,000 and climbing….
Speaking of blessings, we were able to have Don Chagle join us in the studio on Wednesday afternoon of Sharathon. His body was weak, but his spirit was willing, and he managed to eat some of the chocolate-chip peek-kan cookies we’d been hoarding…notice those were peek-kans, not pecans….and fellowship with all who were here helping. He got in the studio twice, his (and our) 23rd consecutive Sharathon since we began back in 1990, and even prayed a great prayer, for the Sharathon and the ministry, that was a highlight of the week. Please pray for him, as his health is failing, and as the old gospel song says, he’s “thinkin’ bout goin’ home”.
We are so thankful for all your prayers, your financial help, the time you donate….all that you do for Thy Word Network….that words fail us as we try to express how grateful we are. But most of all, we are thankful to have had the opportunity to “with one mind and one voice, glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:6)
