Plan Ahead...
By the time you read this, we will have made it through the Christmas celebration season, started a brand New Year, and hopefully enjoyed every minute of it. Every year it seems that there are more challenges from our secular worldview culture, and this past year was no different. We had a White House Christmas tree with only secular ornaments, a Congress that wasn't allowed to say Merry Christmas in their official correspondence, and more reference to "holidays" than the Holy One we derive the name from.
Yet, in the midst of the negativity, there were signs that we might just survive: a young boy, 8 years old, conducted his own personal "coats for the homeless," gathering and giving out a warm wrap and a warm smile to them on the streets of his town; anonymous “Layaway Angels” turned up at store service counters to pay off the layaway charges for strangers; a national TV news network actually showed a Bible Verse in their on-air logo, and seemed to go out of their way to say "Merry Christmas;" and once again, gold coins seemed to find their way into the Salvation Army red kettles, boosting their income from the annual fundraiser. In fact, if you listened closely and long enough, and watched carefully enough, the real meaning of Christmas was alive and well this year.
So where do we go from here? It's a New Year, a fresh start and another opportunity to do something that has lasting value. In fact, if we can, we need to keep the true Spirit of Christmas alive and well. It's a real "game-changer," as they say in the sporting world, and for us, it means we need to continue to share a message of Hope, a message of Light and Love, and most of all, a message of Eternal Salvation found only in Jesus Christ. We hope you can continue to help us with your prayers and support as we enter our 22nd year of broadcasting God's Word through music and ministry on Thy Word Network.
That's our plan, and we're stickin' to it!
