The Power of Showing Up!

The Power of Showing Up
In a recent weekly newsletter from our friends at Ambassador Advertising Agency (they represent many of the programmers we air), Evelyn Gibson talked about the power of “showing up.” She asked a group of people to “consider being in the midst, ready to do whatever it is there is to do, time after time, without fail.” To say “…’I’ll be there—count on it’.”
It arrived on my desk right in the middle of Sharathon, and I couldn’t help but think “that it is exactly what is happening here…God’s people are showing up.” Some traveled in early morning darkness to be here when we started so the phones were covered; some used personal time or vacation days to help out at the studios; most importantly, hundreds of others called in, wrote in, or e-mailed to join in the Sharathon with a faith-promise. God was at work…and they were right in the middle of it!
We live in a culture that is all about “me”…what “I” want…what “I” need…what’s best for “me.”  How refreshing to see so many who are all about what God wants…what He is doing…what matters to Him! They are willing to put God first—with their time—and with their treasure, as well. They “showed up” and made a difference…for eternity.
That theme, Making Our Resources Eternal, was our focus this year, and it has at its core an unselfish willingness to report for duty, as it were, and apply ourselves to Kingdom business. We are blessed to have so many who understand the power of “showing up.” Your gifts do matter, and lives are changed forever because you cared enough to be a part of what God is doing through Thy Word Network. And if, for some reason, you weren’t able to join us last month…the invitation still stands to be a part of what God is doing.
Thanks for caring…and sharing…and showing up!
